Open Digital Incubator Initiative
Several IALA members have recently had discussions and formed “The Open Digital Incubator Initiative” (ODI) which is a non-profit, collaborative, open-source initiative, aimed at facilitating harmonization of maritime digital technical services worldwide.
The principal aim of the ODI initiative is to act as a kind of innovation funnel which facilitates development, prototyping and testing of promising solutions for the maritime domain by providing an operational environment including a globally harmonized connectivity framework which enables full scale end to end testing of digital technical services. The ODI initiative will of course use the guidance provided by the IALA Technical Committees on digitalization.
The IALA Secretariat participates in the Open Digital Incubator Initiative in an advisory role.
