The Academy organizes national micro seminars with coastal States to discuss progress after a technical needs assessment mission. This is a welcome support for competent authorities or AtoN service providers on how to address recommendations after an IALA mission or to contribute to an IMSAS audit.
For the Academy, it is important to learn how to further support each coastal State after a mission. The outcomes of such a seminar could be that more training is necessary, a high-level meeting with the Academy is needed because of a change in management or a risk assessment will have to be conducted as the local situation changed.
Such a seminar takes places virtually between the competent authority or AtoN service provider, the relevant stakeholders and an Academy capacity building expert.
The Academy provides the meeting link so apart from a few hours time, only a stable internet connection is needed. A brief progress report is then prepared by the Academy after the seminar, which may assist the coastal State in overcoming its safety of navigation challenges.
If your organization is interested in participating in such a micro seminar send an email to Mrs. Gerardine Delanoye, Capacity Building and Resources Manager, via gerardine.delanoye@iala-aism.org
